Old Dominion Freight Lines Press Release

Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN), an operating division of the National Wrestling Coaches Association, has partnered with Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL) to help connect wrestlers with early career opportunities. This partnership, as part of WIBN’s Your Next Match initiative, specifically is designed to connect high school wrestlers and recently graduated high school wrestlers with employment opportunities.

One of the most recognized shipping carriers in the country, ODFL offers freight solutions across every region of the United States and North America. ODFL operates 255+ service centers across the country with over 22,000 employees. A proud partner with college athletics, ODFL is partnered with 41 universities and ESPN’s Gameday.

Founded in 1934 by Earl Sr. and Lillian Congdon in Richmond, Virginia, ODFL began with one truck and a steadfast commitment to keep their promises to customers. Since then, ODFL has grown into one of the preeminent leaders in the freight business.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Old Dominion Freight Lines to help find our college and high school wrestlers some amazing career and internship opportunities,” commented Mike Moyer, Executive Director of WIBN. “Their commitment to safety, employee well-being, and employee development are just a few reasons why our wrestlers should be interested in working at ODFL.”

ODFL offers career opportunities in a variety of fields. As one of the largest shipping carriers in the country, ODFL is always looking for talented candidates for management, information technology, human resources, maintenance, and sales positions. They offer excellent benefits programs that help their employees stay healthy, meet their financial goals, develop their careers, and balance the demands of work and personal life.

“OD is proud to support WIBN and student athletes across the country”, stated Betsy Hone, Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition. “As a former student-athlete myself, I believe in the power of sports to inspire, empower, and shape future leaders. At OD we are committed to fostering growth and development and providing resources and guidance for advancement opportunities.”
